Description:Sitting by the shore overlooking Brisbane’s Moreton Bay the Court House Restaurant is a modest visit to a colonial past in the Cleveland/ Redland Bay area. Built in 1853 of timber and handmade brick with sandstone blocks brought out from England by a wealthy land owner, the original structure was a family residence until later converted in1859 to the Cleveland Court House complete with holding cells, which are still an internal feature of the property today. Later extensions in 1978, built of sandstone, blend its original colonial past architecture with its 1970’s extension, built of sandstone blocks salvaged from the demolished Brisbane City Supreme Court House. The interior of the restaurant has been refurbished to its original colonial, simple, elegance and colour palette. The property is equipped with a collection of furnishings and lighting fixtures collected over the past century. Leading toward the Moreton Bay view alfresco dining area and function garden, the original ‘Queenslander’ veranda has a later added wooden trellis. Street parking available. Located 59km (36 miles / 1hr) from Village Roadshow Studios and 25km (35 minutes) from Screen Queensland Studios, Brisbane. The nearest airport is Brisbane Airport (BNE). The closest POH, Brisbane City, is 30km (18 miles / 45mins) away.
