Built in 1851 atop a ridge overlooking Moreton Bay, this traditional archetypal Queenslander pub is the oldest licensed hotel in the state. The heritage listed site is home to numerous facilities: three bars- Grand View Lounge Bar; Emu Point Bar and Vegas by the Bay, two restaurants- Emu Point Garden Bar & Restaurant and the Verandah Restaurant & Cocktail Bar, and two Bed & Breakfast style hotel rooms; the Brighton Room and the Shamrock Room. Both the exterior and interior of the structure remain true to their historic origins- although some modifications have been made over time to the furnishings and decor. The two hotel rooms, have been elegantly restored to their original grandiose style and converted to open event spaces and art galleries.
