Set in peaceful bushland in Carrington 3km from Atherton there are 232 Memorials for persons buried here from 1897 to 1927. Samuel Dansie Park was established in 1897 and was used until 1927 when it was closed due to the wet conditions. The area became overgrown and neglected until volunteer Sam Dansie took a special interest, cleaned, restored and catalogued the contents of the cemetery in 1989, hence the renaming of the cemetery in his honour.
