The Nerada Tea Plantation covers the 360-hectare tea estate, and processing factory, which delivers approximately 750 million cups of tea to the nation every year. Over many years Nerada has developed efficient methods of mechanical harvesting enabling greater efficiencies. There is a continued focus on sustainability and quality, the plantation is already 100% pesticide free and Rainforest Alliance certified. However, plans are well underway to convert some of the tea fields including the Taraqwet tea field to organic certification. This will reinforce Nerada’s position as Australia’s highest-quality tea. Earlier this year Nerada was named as Canstar’s best rated black tea for the second year running.
