Description:
Malanda is a small town in the Tableland Region of the Atherton Tableland in Far North Queensland, 85 kilometres (53 mi) from Cairns and 732 metres (2,402 ft) above sea level. Malanda is located downstream of the Malanda Falls on the North Johnstone River. In the 2016 census, Malanda had a population of 1,985 people. The economy is based upon agriculture (particularly dairy) and tourism.
