Deception Bay is protected from all ocean swell, with only low wind waves reaching the shoreline. Wildlife including mud crabs are found at Deception Bay Beach, as well as the heritage listed ‘Bancroft Baths’ - 19th century baths carved out of the bedrock along the foreshore, only visible during low-tide.
