Description:Yandina is one of the oldest towns on the Sunshine Coast and still has many beautifully preserved heritage buildings to offer. First settled in 1868 Yandina started out as a logging town before becoming a farming town. Yandina Historic House is a fine example of a hinterland homestead built in 1899. Excelsior House built in 1909 is also a magnificent example of a hinterland building. The Yandina Hotel is the oldest pub on the Sunshine Coast. Originally built in 1887 the building is a fine example of an Australian country pub. Other buildings of note in the town include Yandina School of the Arts and Yandina Train Station. Yandina is also home to a ginger factory which is a popular tourist destination. Yandina is 115km (1hr 17mins drive) from Screen Queensland Studios, Brisbane and located 110km (1 hr 15 mins drive) from Brisbane Airport.
