Description:
Four Mile Beach, which is actually 5.5 miles long, is situated in tropical far-north Queensland. At the northern point of the clean, wide, firm white sands of the beach it begins with the rocky headland, then follows the warm Pacific Ocean to the south, running parallel with the luxury resort village of Port Douglas, bordered by coconut palms and thick, lush tropical vegetation. Although the reputation of Port Douglas as being one of the best luxury resort destinations in the country, the beaches are on no occasion overcrowded by tourists or locals. This slice of tropical paradise has been the backdrop to many major tourism campaigns with its breathtaking sunrises and surroundings. Area subject to seasonal native wildlife.
