Description:
Brennan and Geraghty’s Store Museum is a National Trust building with preserved stock from the 1890s through to the 1970s. The store opened in 1871 and ceased trading in 1972, leaving all its contents preserved. The grand masonry façade was added in 1886. There are one-hundred-thousand items in the store including old advertising and products from Aussie brands long out of business. Soap, curry powder, rusty World War II tins, Lucky Hit tobacco, Super Rinso, Chief floor polish, and Brasso can be found on the shelves. The Museum is relatively large and built from timber. There is an attached cottage with a shed, garden, and stables. Located 316km (3 h 28 min) from Village Roadshow Studios. The nearest airport is Hervey Bay Airport (HVB). Flights take approximately 40 minutes from Brisbane. The closest POH, Brisbane City, is 255km (3 h 1 min) away.
