Location ID: #10076629
Kings Beach provides views over Gloucester, Middle and Stone Islands. Here you can see the granite boulders contrasted with the mangroves of Magazine Creek, giving onlookers a rare glimpse into the delicate eco-system. The beach is backed by a low dune and Flagstaff Hill Road, which runs the length of the undeveloped beach. It runs from the inlet for 1.2km down to the rocks and crest of Flagstaff Hill. The beach is considered relatively safe, as the usual low of the waves only reaches about 0.5 metres. There are also some opportunities to surf, specifically a low beach break north of the inlet and at Rose Bay. Kings Beach is used by both tourists and locals for surfing, relaxing and also fishing, which is best off the rocks and in the creek and inlet. There is a designated parking area which provides 100 spaces.
