Maleny is a scenic rural town in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. The delightful country town is located high up in the Blackall mountain range, surrounded by dairy farms and boasts panoramic views of the entire region and heritage listed Glasshouse Mountains. The town itself is picturesque and is dotted with arts & craft galleries, boutiques, bookshops and eateries. Maple street is the main street in the town and includes a mix of buildings dating from the early 1900s. There are a number of traditional timber and tin single storey shops, a common building type in the region in the first half of the twentieth century. Maleny is also home to the subtropical rainforest Mary Cairncross conservation park.
