Gympie is a medium sized, ex-gold mining country town situated on the sides of rolling hills, north of Brisbane. The town has a numerous collection of historic buildings constructed within a single period, thanks to the mining boom. The town also has a collection of businesses and residences spanning the later decades mixed in with the old. Although the period buildings remain prominent among the streetscape, the sidewalks and shopfronts have been continually updated.
