Government Departments - Queensland Police Service

Road traffic management requires 2 levels of approval - Local Councils or Qld Dept of Main Roads own the road and QPS manage the road. Therefore, permission must be requested by Local Council or Main Roads, after approval a Queensland Police Service General Permit application must be lodged with 7 business day processing required.


Road traffic management includes hold and release and/or full road closures, detours, control of traffic lights, parking lane closures (Brisbane) or pedestrian management (Gold Coast). In Brisbane, jurisdiction is divided in to North or South Region whilst permits are issued on the Gold Coast & Sunshine Coast via Police Station.
